Ein kleines Update: Nun haben sich auch Sara Palin und Dick Cheney zur Lage in Ägypten geäußert.
„He’s been a good man, he’s been a good friend and ally of the United States. We need to remember that.“
Soweit Dick Cheney. Richtig konkret wird er nicht. Und auch Obama haut er gar nicht wie sonst in die Pfanne. Wird Darth Cheney jetzt etwa altersmilde?
Und was macht Tea Rex Sarah Palin? Die sagt eigentlich, dass sie nichts weiß:
We want to be able to trust those who are screaming for democracy there in Egypt, that it is a true sincere desire for freedoms and the challenge that we have though, is how do we verify what it is that we are being told, what it is that the American public are being fed via media, via the protestors, via the government there in Egypt in order for us to really have some sound information to make wise decisions on what our position is.
Aber trauen tut sie den Protesten erstmal nicht. Vor sowas hüten sich smarte Politiker ja auch. Überhaupt sei es ziemlich fies, dass Obama ihr nicht erzählt, was er alles über Ägypten weiß:
And nobody yet has, nobody yet has explained to the American public what they know, and surely they know more than the rest of us know who it is who will be taking the place of Mubarak and no, not, not real enthused about what it is that that’s being done on a national level and from D.C. in regards to understanding all the situation there in Egypt. (…) We need to know what it is that America stands for so we know who it is that America will stand with. And, we do not have all that information yet.
Aha. Sie weiß also nicht, wofür Amerika steht. Ich dachte eigentlich, Sarah Palin (die ja nunmal das Symbol des wahren Amerikas ist) stehe eindeutig für Freiheit. Da sollte es doch gar nicht so schwierig sein, sich auf eine Seite im ägyptischen Tohuwabohu zu schlagen. Denn die Welt lässt sich doch auch sonst immer ganz simpel in Gut & Böse, Schwarz & Weiß einteilen.
