Rick Perry, zur Zeit Gouverneur von Texas wird in der nächsten Zeit seine Kandidatur für die republikanische Präsidentschaftskandidatur bekannt geben – aber noch nicht gleich:

Michelle Bachmann verlässt nach 10 Jahren ihre Kirche, die Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod. Warum? Weil sie jetzt erst bemerkt hat, dass ihre Kirche radikal anti-katholisch ist und den Papst für den Teufel hält:

Nate Silver analysiert wie immer empirisch die politischen Folgen des „Default Blame Game“ – und hält darüber hinaus die Chancen für einen Zahlunsgausfall für erheblich höher als die Ratingagenturen:

Hermann Cain findet, dass seine öffentliche Ablehnung eines Moscheenneubaus keine Diskriminierung ist, weil Muslime ohnehin die Verfassung brechen:
„Our Constitution guarantees separation of church and state. Islam combines church and state,“ Cain said on „Fox News Sunday.“ „They are using the church part of our First Amendment to infuse their mosque in that community and the people in the community do not like it, they disagree with it.“

- Ruy Teixera beschreibt einen Einbruch der Untewrstützung für eine Wiederwahl Obamas bei den „white working class voters“
Bonus-Zitat: U.S. Senatur Barack Obama in seiner Rede 2006, in der er die Erhöhung der Schuldengrenze auf Bitten der Bush-Administration vehement ablehnte:
„The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. … Increasing America’s debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that ‚the buck stops here.‘ Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem.“
So etwas holt einen irgendwann ein.
