    Adi –

I lived in the DDR, and have been fluent in German.  It’s plain to see that you aren’t a “Romney Fanboy”, but to call what you’re doing some sort of information and news site is ridiculous.  I do NOT live in a right-wing bizzarro-world as you assert, but rather outside of Germany where information isn’t so narrowly dispensed.

Cognitive dissonance, which you say I suffer from, is not our issue, but rather one better suited to describe the detached American living abroad voting narrowly on issues that have virtually no impact on you.

What’s especially sad is that you think a world view which you do not share, from those who are actually voting on local and national issues in their place of residence, can somehow be readily dismissed and disqualified as asocial.  In that sense, you do as good a job of keeping alive the monomania, insularity, sense of authority over the individual, and distrustful nature of the former East, which also seems to live just under the surface of so much of European culture.

hey joe :-) we do not claim to be a news site. this is a blog written by people interested in american politics. simple as that. yes, we often tend to be subjective. the same goes for you as well. if you call your blog a news site, well, this is ridiculous as well.

uh, no, i don’ think that. and i don’t think you can read my thoughts. once again, you are too fast to interpret things with a sense of yourself being the one who really understands it all.

you should maybe go back to your initial post and reread it. maybe you will find traces of arrogance in there coupled with a superiority complex with regard to all those poor ill-informed germans. hence my reply. maybe you find traces of irony and satire in it.

interesting to hear that you lived in the DDR. i myself never lived there, only in texas, new mexico and new york (outside of germany).

and i really like the word “monomania”. i think the only time i’ve read it before was in “into the wild”. good book.

    cheers
    adi
